The Credential Verification Office Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the credentialing functions of the Medical Staff. You will serve as the organizational expert in credentialing software (Cactus) and will be responsible for maintaining accurate practitioner information in the database. You will serve as the primary contact for individuals seeking appointment to the Medical and Allied Health Professional Staffs, will serve as the primary contact with the corporate Credentialing Processing Center office to insure timely, accurate appointments and reappointments to the Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Professionals.
What you will do in this role:
- You will assist with development and implementation of credentialing/privileging policies and procedures, and will assist in compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies with regard to Medical Staff standards.

You must have a working knowledge of the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Credentials Policy, Organizational Manual, and Medical Staff Policies is an expectation of the MSC position.

You will provide data support for Meditech, perform monthly sanction checks and reports, process daily undefined provider reports and manage expirables in both Cactus and Meditech to include LIP’s and APP’s that are both privileged and non-privileged providers.
- You will process pre-applications upon receipt through the MWD mailbox and follow-up on missing information.
- You will provide support to the Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee and will assist in managing the flow of information between the Medical Staff Office, Medical Staff Leadership, the Chief Medical Officer, and hospital administration.
What qualifications you will need:

High School diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) in process required

A minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience required
- Incumbent must be knowledgeable of TJC (The Joint Commission) Standards related to as the Organized Medical Staff.

Incumbent must have a working knowledge of medical staff meeting management, credentials and various software packages, including Visual Cactus programs and databases.

Extensive medical terminology background required.

Requires credentialing experience and hospital knowledge of committees and O suite.
