Lead Service Advisor / Working ManagerJob Overview

Auto Doctors is looking for an experienced Lead Service Advisor / Working Manager who knows how to lead from the front.

This is not a position for someone who wants to sit behind a desk and simply supervise others. We need a working leader who can serve customers, write service, support the team, solve problems, and help keep the shop moving while developing the people around them.

The right person will have strong automotive service experience, excellent customer communication skills, and the confidence to make decisions without believing they have all the answers. We value leaders who are coachable, accountable, team-focused, and willing to follow proven processes.

What You’ll Do

Work directly with customers throughout the repair process, from the first phone call and vehicle intake through final delivery.
Write accurate repair orders, prepare estimates, present inspection results, and clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance.
Build trust with customers while confidently asking for the sale and helping them make informed decisions about their vehicles.
Lead the daily workflow of the service department and help keep advisors, technicians, parts, and leadership aligned.
Step in wherever needed to support the team, resolve concerns, and keep work moving.
Coach and develop service advisors through regular feedback, call reviews, process training, and real-time support.
Set clear expectations and respectfully hold team members accountable for performance, communication, attendance, and follow-through.
Monitor key performance indicators, including sales, close ratio, average repair order, and gross profit.
Follow and reinforce Auto Doctors’ systems and processes rather than creating a different way of doing things without team alignment.
Help identify bottlenecks and bring possible solutions to leadership.
Handle customer concerns professionally and work to make situations right.
Communicate honestly with leadership about results, challenges, staffing needs, and opportunities for improvement.
Help create a positive, productive workplace where the success of the entire shop comes before individual recognition.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Manager, Shop Manager, or similar automotive leadership role.
Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance services.
Experience reviewing digital vehicle inspections and presenting recommended repairs.
Proven ability to build customer relationships and close legitimate, needed repair work without using high-pressure sales tactics.
Experience coaching, training, or leading other employees.
Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with actively working in the service department.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Confidence to make decisions combined with the humility to ask questions, accept feedback, and continue learning.
A team-first mindset with the ability to put the needs of the customer, employees, and company ahead of personal recognition.
Willingness to follow established processes and support decisions once the leadership team has aligned.
Dependable attendance and consistent follow-through.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
