Hourly Pay: $44.27 – $61.99 (experience-based; midpoint $53.12)

Job Description

Overview

A busy, high-performing surgical department in Overland Park is seeking an experienced RN Surgical Services – OR Manager to lead perioperative operations. This department performs 550+ surgical cases per month across 11 OR suites and supports a Level II Trauma program. The OR Manager provides leadership for preadmission testing, pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services, ensuring excellence across the full perioperative continuum.

Responsibilities

Oversee planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of perioperative nursing care
Manage day-to-day OR operations including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization
Ensure regulatory compliance and support quality and patient safety initiatives
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical departments for coordinated care
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for approximately 40 FTEs
Manage departmental resources and budgets responsibly
Support continuous process improvement and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence
Maintain clinical competency to support perioperative teams when needed

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 3 years of recent acute-care OR management experience
Active RN license (state or compact)
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Ability to obtain and maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Master’s preferred
Specialty certification (e.g., CPAN, CNOR, or perioperative certification)
Experience leading OR teams in high-volume surgical environments
