Full Job Description

PATIENT TRANSPORT FOR PACU

Welcome to Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center

At Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center, we believe health and care are inseparable. Our mission is to care for every patient and their family as if they were our own. Each patient, each family, each and every time. Our technology allows surgeons to perform procedures in the specialty areas of: Cataract Surgery, Bladeless Cataract Surgery, LenSx Laser, ORA, Corneal Surgery, Glaucoma Treatment, and Oculoplastic Surgery.

Patient Transporter at Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center

The Patient Transporter helps patients by transporting them into, around, and out of the surgery center.

Responsibilities:

Transports patients by assisting patients to the car via wheelchair; lifting patients on and off stretchers and recliners.
Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
Transports equipment, supplies, and delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs for patient use.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Restocking, maintaining and organizing medical supplies in the PreOP/PACU areas.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred.
Current BLS required.
