Full Job Description

Step into an impactful contract nursing role supporting a single school site near Owatonna, MN, from November 2026 through March 2027. This position centers on providing high-quality care in a school setting, covering a maternity leave. Focus your expertise in the health office, while also serving as a knowledgeable resource and interim supervisor for LPNs and health office staff. With a balanced schedule of 35 hours per week, this assignment offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students and staff for several months.

Key Qualifications:

Current Minnesota RN license (LSN strongly preferred)
Prior experience in a school setting or working with children/adolescents is beneficial
Confident clinical skills and proven ability to handle everyday health office responsibilities
Leadership skills to guide and supervise LPNs and office staff
Excellent communication abilities for interaction with students, families, and colleagues
Willingness to work collaboratively within a close-knit educational environment
Strong sense of responsibility and dependability

Responsibilities:

Provide routine and emergency nursing care in the school health office
Serve as a resource and leader for LPNs and other health office staff
Oversee daily clinic operations, medication administration, and health plan implementation
Act as an interim supervisor, ensuring staff maintain best practices and support student health
Communicate health information effectively to students, families, and school staff
Maintain accurate and timely health records
Collaborate with educators to support inclusive and healthy learning environments
