Full Job Description

Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Patient Transport | Work Hours: Mon-Fri 8-1630 Sat- Sun 8-1630 | Weekend Requirements: Every Other | 0.5 FTE

Job Summary:

Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.

Job Responsibilities:

A Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
Provides continuous oxygen to patients by setting the oxygen tanks to the same level already being provided.
Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting team members or department.
Assists team members with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.

Skills and Attributes:

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Works under minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Position Requirements:

Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.

Education

High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
