Experienced Mortgage Loan Processor

Vanguard Capital Mortgage LLC

Location: Hybrid – Baltimore County, MD (Remote + In-Office)

Join a Growing Independent Mortgage Brokerage

Vanguard Capital Mortgage is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor who thrives in a fast-paced mortgage brokerage environment. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who can independently manage loan files from contract to closing, communicate effectively with borrowers and third parties, and proactively solve problems with minimal oversight.

If you're accustomed to working with multiple wholesale lenders, lender portals, and a variety of loan programs—not just a single retail lender—we'd like to speak with you.

Primary Responsibilities

Process residential mortgage loan files from application through funding.
Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Submit and manage loan files through multiple wholesale lender portals.
Communicate directly with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, insurance agents, appraisers, and real estate professionals.
Order and review appraisals, title work, verification documents, insurance, payoffs, and other third-party items.
Collect and satisfy underwriting conditions while keeping all parties informed throughout the transaction.
Identify potential issues early and proactively develop solutions to keep loans moving toward closing.
Maintain compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements.
Manage multiple loan files simultaneously while providing exceptional customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent residential mortgage loan processing experience (required).
Current or recent employment with an independent mortgage broker is strongly preferred. Retail bank or retail mortgage-only processing experience may not be be sufficient unless the candidate also has wholesale broker processing experience.
Thorough knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM loan products.
Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues before they become closing delays.

Technology & Wholesale Lender Experience

Candidates must have hands-on experience working within a mortgage broker environment using multiple wholesale lender portals.

Experience with the following platforms is strongly preferred:

Applicants should be comfortable navigating multiple lender systems simultaneously, understanding varying underwriting guidelines, and selecting the best lender and product based on each borrower's scenario.

Work Environment

Hybrid work schedule.
Ability to work both remotely and from our Baltimore County office.
Flexible work-from-home opportunities based on performance and operational needs.
Reliable high-speed internet and a professional home office environment are required.

Compensation

We recognize that experienced processors have different career goals, so we offer two compensation options:

Option 1

Competitive base salary
Performance-based bonus opportunities

Option 2

100% commission with substantially higher earning potential for experienced, production-driven processors.
During the interview process, we will openly share our funded loan volume from the previous six months so candidates can accurately evaluate the earning opportunity under this compensation model.
