Optometric Technician Open Position
A close-knit, family-owned and independent optometry clinic with a full-service optical in the heart of Historic Linden, Michigan. Linden Family Eye Care is looking for a hard-working, dependable and professional person to join our small team as an optometric technician. As the direct assistant to the doctor, you will be responsible for preparing the patient for the exam by working them up, performing any specialty testing needed, explaining procedures and making the patient feel at home at the office. We are looking for someone who will grow with us, expanding his or her knowledge of all things eye care related.
· Microsoft Office, emailing, e-faxing skills a must. Our office uses Revolution EHR software.
· :In-person, phone and written/electronic correspondence skills are a must!
· Welcome future and established patients to the practice, schedule appointments in our electronic health records system, discuss insurance benefits, costs of services and collect payments.
· Work-up (AR/Ks, lensometry, entrance testing, IOP, dilation), scribe, specialty testing (anterior and fundus photography, pachymetry, visual field, corneal topography, OCT).
· Empower and encourage other staff members to further their skill sets.
· Continue developing protocols for best clinical practices according to the AOA guidelines and standard of care, along with the doctors.
·Ensure that the practice is looking it's best and is running smoothly: open up/close down the building, prep coffee, take out the trash, spruce up decorations, etc.
· Fill in whenever needed wherever needed to help the team!
Current clinic hours:
· Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Staff to arrive ½ hour before clinic opens.
Compensation
· Hourly wage: Commensurate on skill set and experience level.
· Starting schedule to include paid orientation.
· 90-day probation period.
· Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
· SIMPLE IRA with 3% match after 1-year of full-time employment
