Skincare & Wellness Sales Consultant / Spray Tan Artist

Tropical Tan & Wellness | Waterford, MI
Part-time: 20+ hours per week
Pay: $16.00–$19.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, training, and performance

Tropical Tan & Wellness is looking for a dependable, polished, and motivated professional who is passionate about skincare, beauty, wellness, and helping clients feel confident.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in a spa, salon, skincare studio, tanning salon, beauty retailer, or another client-focused beauty environment. Esthetics students and licensed estheticians interested in sales and wellness are encouraged to apply; an esthetics license is not required.

This is more than a front desk position. You will build relationships with clients, recommend skincare products and wellness services, sell memberships, perform custom spray tans, and educate clients about services such as red-light therapy and infrared sauna.

Responsibilities

Welcome clients and create a professional, personalized salon experience.
Consult with clients about their skincare, tanning, beauty, and wellness goals.
Recommend memberships, retail products, tanning options, red-light therapy, infrared sauna, and other wellness services.
Educate clients about products, services, preparation, and aftercare.
Perform professional custom spray tans; paid training is provided.
Guide clients through the proper use of red-light therapy and infrared sauna services.
Build lasting client relationships and support client retention.
Assist with beauty- and wellness-focused social media content, promotions, and marketing.
Merchandise and restock skincare, tanning, and retail products.
Answer phone calls, manage appointments, and respond to client questions.
Complete opening and closing procedures accurately.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and visually appealing salon.
Work independently and remain productive during slower periods.
Follow company procedures, sanitation practices, and service standards.
Look for ways to improve the client experience and presentation of the salon.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate:

Has experience in skincare, beauty, cosmetics, tanning, spa services, salon services, wellness, or beauty retail.
Has strong sales and customer service skills.
Is confident recommending and selling products, services, and memberships.
Has a genuine interest in skincare, beauty, and wellness.
Is interested in learning about red-light therapy, infrared sauna, tanning, and related wellness services.
Is polished, friendly, professional, and comfortable working closely with clients.
Is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented.
Is comfortable learning and performing hands-on custom spray tanning.
Can create simple social media content and assist with promotions.
Responds positively to training, coaching, feedback, and sales goals.
Can work independently and take initiative without constant supervision.
Has consistent evening and weekend availability.

Previous beauty-industry experience is strongly preferred. Esthetics students and licensed estheticians are welcome to apply, but an esthetics license is not required.
