Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help improve mental well-being through evidence-based interventions, medication management, and collaborative care approaches. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives while working in a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments utilizing advanced clinical skills and physiology knowledge.
Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with clinical research findings and clinical guidelines.
Manage medication administration, including injection administration and IV infusion when necessary, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and DEA requirements.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals through collaborative practice agreements to optimize patient care.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation, medical records management, and patient data entry.
Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care across diverse settings.
Educate patients and families on behavioral health issues, medication adherence, nutrition, and health coaching strategies to promote recovery and resilience.

Skills

Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or dementia care enhances patient-centered approaches.
Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for efficient electronic health records management.
Skilled in performing physical examinations, vital signs assessment, and patient intake procedures across various age groups including pediatrics and neonatal ventilator management.
Experience in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly valued for managing complex cases involving acute pain management or infectious disease care.
Ability to perform specialized procedures like suturing, spinal tap (lumbar puncture), dermal fillers, or esthetic laser treatments when applicable.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, discharge planning, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
