Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Secretary to join our dynamic law firm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including but not limited to estate planning, family law, and litigation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a commitment to providing exceptional administrative support within a legal environment.

Responsibilities

Provide executive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
Draft, proofread, and manage legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to assist in case preparation.
Maintain accurate filing systems and document management systems for easy retrieval of case files.
Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases and legal matters.
Prepare for trials by organizing exhibits, evidence, and witness information.
Handle client communications with professionalism, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to phone etiquette.
Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date client records.
Collaborate with attorneys on various legal matters including immigration law, environmental law, and personal injury law.

Experience

Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law office environment.
Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures across various practice areas such as UCC law, workers' compensation law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, and securities law is preferred.
Proficiency in legal case management software (e.g., iManage) and document management systems (e.g., PCLaw).
Strong writing skills with the ability to draft legal documents accurately and effectively.
Experience in conducting interviews and managing client interactions is an asset.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A background in paralegal studies or relevant certifications is advantageous but not required. We invite qualified candidates who are eager to contribute their skills in a supportive team environment to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Legal Secretary.
