Full Job Description:
The Peace Dive Boat Peaceboat.com is looking for a Dive Master/Deck Hand to join the crew for the 2026 season. This position is primarily responsible for passenger safety and boat/diving operations under the direction of the Captain. Prior dive boat experience is preferred, but not required.
Primary Duties:
- Oversee passenger safety related to diving operations
- Assist passengers with boarding, gear storage, entering and exiting the water, and general on board procedures
- Divemasters do not provide in water dive guide services
- Rescues and/or participate in emergency procedures as needed
- Filling tanks
- Pulling lines and anchor
- Coordination with captain for boat maneuvering
- Other minor boat maintenance or operations as directed
Additional Duties:
- Cleaning heads
- Boat cleanliness before, during, and after each trip
- Passenger communication
- Joining the boat’s drug testing consortium is required
- Maintain an excellent “can-do” attitude with respect for your fellow crew and higher-ups.
- We rely heavily on each other as a crew and need a member to think of the operation as a whole.
- Willingness and drive to learn and improve.
Work Conditions:
- Requires the ability to work in a seaborne environment at remote locations with over-night trips.
- Must be able to work most weekends and do back to back multi-day trips. Work schedule is determined by the boat’s trip schedule.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, pull lines, and assist with emergency operations if needed.
- The DM/Deck hand has the ability to take advantage of our service and dive during the day when permissible by the Captain, whether that’s scuba, free diving or spending time on deck and enjoying our hot tub. If time permits and work conditions are met, there are opportunities to enjoy the ocean and crew life.
Required information to include with your application:
- Experience with boats/boating, including former employer and/or recreational as relevant.
- Dive level experience and certification level, to include any professional or recreational experience.

Some training in boat operations may be provided to a candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
