Principal Functions:
The Director of Facilities and Maintenance provides strategic and hands-on leadership for the care, safety, operation, and long-term stewardship of all church buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems. The director develops preventive-maintenance programs, leads staff and volunteers, manages contractors and budgets, plans capital improvements, and ensures that church facilities are safe, welcoming, dependable, and prepared to support the church’s ministries and continued growth.
A leadership position charged with the task of ensuring the completion of all custodial & maintenance work in order to maintain all church facilities in a clean and presentable condition for church and community functions. These tasks may be carried out by the Director, a member of their team, or through a contracted work effort by another business. These tasks include cleaning and sanitizing, interior and exterior building maintenance, grounds maintenance, and room setup for various events, meetings, and services. The director must be able to lead people, manage complex building systems, plan ahead, and support ministry operations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervising and delegating responsibilities below to any other maintenance staff, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
- Check the building use forms for room set-up and clean-ups needed
- Check and replace all burned out lights
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Stock restrooms as required
- Check for and perform minor repairs of building and equipment
- Setup for regularly scheduled events, meetings, and services
- Cleanup as required following events, meetings, and services
- Unlock and lock doors for visitors and observe basic security standards
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip/refinish floors
- Clean and maintain rooms, hallways, lobbies, stairways, and classrooms
- Empty and clean waste receptacles; transport trash and waste to disposal area
- Setup and cleanup for special events, weddings and funerals
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment; dust and clean furnishing, countertop surfaces and equipment
- Regulate ventilation and temperature in buildings; change filters and clean air vents, and adjust shades and blinds
- Clean grease traps, flood drains, and sink drains
- Maintain kitchen fire retardation system
- Maintain Van & Shuttle, keep fueled, regularly tuned up, etc.
- Gather bids/quotes and then advise the Church Administrator of need: for special cleaning that may be required; maintenance items such as plumbing issues, electrical problems, roof leaks, and mechanical maintenance
- Work with independent contractors in any areas pertaining to the building and grounds
- Assist the Building & Ground Ministry Team in making decisions and gathering information
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Church Administrator.

Requirements - Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience managing a large commercial, institutional, educational, or church facility with multiple buildings and complex mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, furnaces, controls, thermostats, preventive maintenance, filter schedules, and vendor coordination.
- Experience inspecting and maintaining flat or low-slope roofing systems, including built-up asphalt or tar roofs, drains, flashing, penetrations, seams, leak detection, and repair planning.
- Proven ability to obtain bids, compare proposals, verify insurance and licensing, supervise contractor work, control project scope, and confirm that completed work meets expectations.
- Ability to prepare and manage annual operating and maintenance budgets while developing long-term capital-replacement plans.
- Working knowledge of applicable fire codes, occupancy requirements, OSHA-related practices, emergency procedures, accessibility requirements, hazardous-material handling, and required inspections.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests, diagnose facility problems, manage renovation or repair projects, coordinate work around ministry schedules, and respond calmly to emergencies.

- The Director of Facilities & Maintenance works directly under the supervision of the Senior Associate Pastor

Job Classification:
- The position is considered a full-time, exempt, salaried position.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
