Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant (Part-Time)

Grant Pet Hospital & Urgent Care is looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team! If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy a variety of medical cases, and want to work alongside a supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together, we'd love to meet you.

Our hospital combines general practice and urgent care, providing the opportunity to expand your skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their families every day. With 3 experienced veterinarians and a collaborative veterinary technician and veterinary assistant team, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of procedures and medical cases. We believe in cross-training and rotating responsibilities so every team member has opportunities to learn, grow, and develop their strengths.

Position Details

Part-time (up to 28 hours per week)
Rotating Saturdays required
Pre-employment drug screen and background check required

What You'll Do

As an essential member of our medical team, you will:

Provide compassionate care for patients during routine, urgent, hospitalized, critical, and end-of-life cases
Safely and confidently handle pets of all sizes and temperaments
Assist veterinarians with routine and urgent care appointments.
Collect, prepare, and process laboratory samples for in-house diagnostics and outside reference laboratories
Place IV catheters and administer medications as directed
Assist with diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound
Support anesthesia, surgery, dental procedures, and dental radiography
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records
Educate clients and partner with pet owners to provide the highest standard of care
Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment

Qualifications

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Veterinary Assistant certification preferred
Previous veterinary clinical experience preferred
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of a busy veterinary hospital, including standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and reaching
