Full Job Description

1905 New Media, an integrated marketing firm based in St. Louis is seeking a Senior Account manager to join our team. The Senior Account Manager owns client relationships and drives the work forward. This is the person who runs the call, picks up the phone to unblock a stalled project and spots the next opportunity before anyone asks. They sit between day-to-day account management and high-level strategy, comfortable executing the details flawlessly while contributing meaningful strategic thinking to the accounts they lead.

The ideal candidate is proactive, intuitive and highly collaborative. They build trust quickly and influence outcomes. Curious by nature and energized by variety, they thrive in fast-paced environments with competing priorities. Above all, they are resourceful, detail-oriented and dependable, balancing strategic thinking with strong follow-through to ensure both clients and internal teams feel supported and confident in the work.

Job Responsibilities:

Own client relationships across a portfolio of accounts as the primary point of contact through the life of the engagement
Lead client meetings and calls, set the agenda, and follow through on what comes out of them
Work problems in real time, get the right people on the meeting, and unblock projects before they stall
Contribute strategic recommendations and run point on strategy for smaller accounts; partner with a strategist on integrated strategy for major accounts
Manage execution across internal teams, clarifying scope and deliverables so work gets done right the first time
Spot upsell and growth opportunities within existing accounts and bring them forward with a clear plan
Keep Asana, client files, and project status current so nothing slips through the cracks
Write clear recaps, scopes, and client communications that keep everyone aligned
Use AI agency tools (Claude and others) and follow our established process day to day to work faster and sharper across research, writing, and account management

Experience & Skills

5+ years in account management experience, ideally in a marketing agency setting
Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, marketing or related field
Understanding of general agency processes and operations
A track record of owning client relationships and keeping complex, multi-client workloads on track
Strong working knowledge of digital marketing across SEO, paid media, content, web, and email
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to lead client meetings
Comfort using AI tools to streamline research, writing, and day-to-day work
A proactive, find-a-way mindset and a strong sense of accountability
Sharp organization, attention to detail, and the ability to move fast without dropping balls
An upbeat, collaborative attitude toward clients and teammates alike
Comfort operating in ambiguity with accountability.
Comfort working with remote team members across time zones
Desire to work in a collaborative and inclusive team environment

Candidates must be located within the St. Louis area and will be required to work from the St. Louis office and attend in-person meetings periodically based on client and team needs.
