About Us

Duncan Welding & Fabrication is a growing metal fabrication company based in Simi Valley, serving residential, HOA, and commercial customers throughout Ventura County.

Our work includes custom gates and fences, handrails and guardrails, miscellaneous metals, commercial and HOA fabrication, and custom steel projects.

We take pride in producing work that is built correctly, finished well, and something we're proud to put our name on.

We're growing and looking for an experienced metal fabricator/welder who can contribute in the shop quickly while learning Duncan's standards and processes.

What We're Looking For

This is not an entry-level welding position. We're looking for someone with hands-on fabrication experience who understands how to build—not simply someone who knows how to weld.

The right candidate should be able to:

Accurately read a tape measure and work to dimensions and tolerances
Work from drawings, sketches, and cut lists
Cut, prep, fit, square, tack, and fabricate steel assemblies
MIG weld confidently and consistently
Fabricate gates, railings, fences, and similar assemblies
Understand proper fit-up and distortion control
Use common fabrication equipment and power tools safely
Grind and finish work to a professional standard
Check dimensions, squareness, and workmanship before considering an assembly complete
Maintain an organized and safe work area
Take direction and adapt to established shop standards and processes
Work independently once expectations are established

Experience with TIG, commercial fabrication, blueprint reading, or miscellaneous metals is a plus.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, shows up reliably, communicates well, and is willing to learn how we do things at Duncan.

Experience without ego is important to us.

Every fabrication shop has its own standards. We want someone who is confident in their abilities while also being coachable and willing to adjust their process when necessary.

Quality matters here. Cutting corners doesn't.

Position & Growth

This position will begin at approximately 20–30 hours per week, with the potential to become full-time as workload and the company continue to grow.

We're not simply looking for temporary help. For the right person, there is an opportunity to grow with Duncan Welding & Fabrication as we continue expanding our commercial and fabrication work.

Compensation

$28.00–$35.00 per hour DOE

Compensation within this range will be based on demonstrated fabrication ability, experience, independence, and overall fit for the position.

Hiring Proces

Qualified applicants will first have a short phone conversation with us.

Selected candidates will then meet with us at our Simi Valley shop.

Final candidates may be asked to complete a paid hands-on fabrication skills assessment so both sides can determine whether the position is a good fit.
