PAYROLL & BOOKKEEPING SPECIALIST

CBM CPAs & Advisors is a well-established and reputable Certified Public Accounting (CPA) firm with over 40 years of experience serving clients in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois. Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to delivering high-quality financial and advisory services to our diverse client base. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

We’re looking for a Payroll & Bookkeeping Specialist who wants more than a routine accounting role—someone who enjoys making a real difference in clients’ lives while continuing to learn, grow, and expand their skillset across a variety of industries.

What You'll Do

Help clients stay organized and confident in their financials by preparing and reviewing bank reconciliations
Process payroll and handle related filings while ensuring compliance and accuracy
Prepare accounts payable, sales tax returns, and journal entries
Assist in preparing financial statements and meaningful reports clients can actually use
Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and solve problems
Continue developing your technical and professional skills through ongoing learning opportunities

What You Bring

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
Experience in bookkeeping and familiarity with accounting software
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience with QuickBooks (QBO ProAdvisor is a plus) and Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
