Canyonlands Healthcare is looking for our next Human Resource Director — a strategic, people-first leader ready to guide our HR department and help shape the employee experience across the Agency.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a current CHC team member who is passionate about people, policy, and building a workplace where every employee can thrive. Reporting directly to the CEO, the HR Director will own the full HR function — from recruitment and benefits to compliance, employee relations, and department leadership.
What You'll Do
- Lead, plan, and evaluate all activities of the Human Resources Department
- Guide Agency policy and ensure compliance with evolving federal and state employment law
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and credentialing for all staff
- Partner with department managers on personnel matters and performance management
- Manage benefits administration, FMLA, workers' compensation, and unemployment processes
- Supervise and develop the HR team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field — or three or more years of managerial HR experience
- Strong, current knowledge of state and federal HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Eligibility to obtain PHR certification (PHR/SPHR already in hand is a plus)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and sound judgment handling confidential matters
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or closely related field Or Three years’ experience in Human Resources at a managerial level.

Ability to obtain professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification.

Demonstrated extensive knowledge of state and federal HR laws and regulations and HR best practices.

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and HRIS programs.

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Detail oriented, organized, professional, and the ability to multi-task.

Good interpersonal and human relations skills are required. Must possess skills to empathize and care for a variety of patients, including low-income and diverse cultures and treat everyone (internal and external customers) with respect and dignity.

Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times in all situations and follow the laws and intent of the most current HIPAA laws and regulations and Canyonlands’ security and privacy policies.

Ability to read, write and speak clearly understandable English.
Preferred Qualifications:

Professional in Human Resource (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification (unexpired).

Five years’ experience in Human Resources at a managerial level.

HR experience in a health related field.

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish/Navajo) language skills.
