Full Job Description

Medical & Administrative Assistant

An established Urology medical practice is looking for a Medical Front Office Assistant. A part time position with 25 to 30 hours +/- is available with hours as follows:

Part Time Position (30 Hours +/-):

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Friday: As needed

Saturday/Sunday: Closed

The main practice is located on Crill Avenue, Palatka across from the hospital.
The individual is expected to have a very reliable transportation to be able to come to work every day on time.
The job includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

Administrative and Front Desk Duties

The position is responsible for administrative and front desk duties including the following:

· Welcome patients and foster good patient and referring provider relationships

· Schedule new and follow up patients

· Confirm upcoming patient appointments and ensure we have lab results

· Collect co-pays and outstanding balances at time of visit

· Obtain pre-authorizations (when needed)

· Send patient statements and/or medical records

· Assist Billing Specialist in logging insurance and patient payments in the EMR (scan received payments into the EMR)

· Coordinate with referring providers and obtaining patient data sheets from hospitals

· Schedule patient's next appointment
Assist physicians with a broad spectrum of daily medical office tasks as required

Medical Assistant Duties (As needed)

Check in patients and take vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.)
Take patient's medical history and enters data in EMR
Assist physician in the exam room

Mandatory Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Minimum of 1-year of Administrative Assistant / Front Desk in a Medical Office Experience

· Minimum of 1-year Medical Assistant and direct patient care

· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Windows)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs Excel, Word, Email

· Fast data entry (Must type at least 60 to 80 wpm)

· Electronic Medical Record experience

· Patient referral and schedule coordination experience is required

· Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to communicate with all Insurances such as, Medicare, Medicaid Private Pay and Third-Party Insurances on a daily basis

· Patient Insurance Pre-Authorization and Co-Pay Processing

· Excellent interpersonal skills with the willingness to interact daily with patients, other physician offices, and insurance companies.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

· Experience in a Urology, Internal Medicine, or Specialist Outpatient Practice

. Experience with Advanced MD EMR/EHR

Compensation and Time Off:

Hourly Rate is $15.00 to $17.00 commensurate with experience

1 Weeks Paid Vacation Per Year

1 Week Paid Sick Time Per Year

Paid Select National Holidays
