Full Job Description

The position is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, accounts payable and receivable oversight, payroll coordination, financial analysis, and compliance. This role provides strategic financial guidance to management, supports operational decision-making, and ensures the company's financial health and long-term profitability. The Finance Manager works closely with department managers to monitor budgets, control costs, and improve financial performance. Communication with the holding company is also an integral role in the position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Monitor company cash flow and develop cash management strategies.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper accounting procedures.
Assist executive management with financial planning and business strategy.
Develop and manage company budgets and forecasts.
Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Analyze operational costs, profitability, and financial trends.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare financial reports for ownership, management, lenders, and external stakeholders.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
Review journal entries and accounting transactions for accuracy.
Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Assist with consolidated financial audits, reviews, and tax filings as a subsidiary.
Develop annual operating budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor departmental spending and budget compliance.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Analyze labor costs, equipment expenses, overhead, and project profitability.
Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws.
Coordinate payroll reporting, tax filings, and employee deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Oversee insurance renewals, bonding requirements, and financial risk management.
Supervise accounting, payroll, and administrative staff as assigned.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
Provide financial training and support to department managers.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong understanding of payroll, taxation, and compliance requirements.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems.

Education and Training Required:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.

Experience Required:

Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience required.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

Primarily office-based environment.
Occasional visits to field operations, project sites, and company facilities.
