Full Job Description

Job Overview
The Residential Aide provides direct support, structure, and supervision to residents in a transitional housing environment. The RA helps maintain a safe, stable, and supportive living space while modeling healthy communication, who loves the Lord, appropriate boundaries, and positive life skills. This role is essential in fostering a trauma-informed, compassionate, and growth-oriented environment for pregnant mothers and mothers with young children.

Responsibilities

Build rapport with residents through consistent presence, positive communication, and supportive interactions.

Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly campus environment.

Monitor resident activity to ensure compliance with program guidelines and community expectations.

Address policy violations professionally and document occurrences following agency protocol.

Conduct regular check-ins to assess resident well-being and daily needs.

Provide emotional support, redirection, and de-escalation as needed using trauma-informed care principles.

Support residents in developing life skills, including routines, communication, and problem-solving.
Respond to crises or emergencies and notify leadership as required.
Complete incident reports, shift notes, and other documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
Communicate relevant observations to Case Coordinators and leadership to support resident treatment planning.
Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision.
Assist in preparing meals or supervising resident meal preparation as needed.
Support residents through chore oversight, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation throughout the home.
Lead devotion
Help facilitate structured activities, groups, and community-building opportunities.
Maintain healthy boundaries and professional relationships with residents and staff.
Model positive, cooperative teamwork and uphold a culture of respect.
Support new staff through mentorship, modeling appropriate engagement and interactions.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; some college or social services coursework preferred.
Experience working in residential care, social services, childcare, or related fields preferred.
Knowledge of First Aid and CPR certification is essential for ensuring resident safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic environment.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Must demonstrate compassion, patience, professionalism, and a trauma-informed approach.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, and families
Valid driver’s license for driving residents when necessary for appointments or outings
Trauma-informed and client-centered engagement
Conflict resolution and de-escalation
Strong organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Work Environment

This is an overnight shift
Residential setting with rotating shifts (some weekends, and some holidays).
Requires walking, bending, occasional lifting, and active supervision of residents.
May include assisting with infants and young children.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

Work Location: In person
