STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

FRONT DESK ASSOICATE

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION.
Summary Description

The Front Desk Associate will be an integral position to the daily operation of the Harry J McDonald Memorial Center. This position will be on the front lines of customer interactions, to include point of sales transactions, general information, facility upkeep on turf side, and cleaning. This position will require a knowledge of facility programming, use of the point-of-sale system, issuing facility equipment, answering questions via phone or in person, rental rates, and general customer information regarding the facility. The Front Desk Associate will be the first staff members our customers interact with and as such, should be well kept, comfortable speaking with the public, and have a friendly demeanor.

Work Environment

Office area where conditions are pleasant; varied outdoor and indoor shop work sites with disagreeable conditions with undesirable elements or factors on a somewhat continuous basis; up to ¾ of time is spent standing, walking; major accident/hazard risk; requires sustained periods of heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling (25+lbs)

Responsibilities

Effective use of the facility point-of-sale/registration software and cash register.
Responsible for keeping the areas of the front desk, main office, and lobby clean and organized.
Greet customers and guests with a courteous attitude and be willing to provide accurate information about the facility.
General office skills and small clerical duties for computer assistance with flyers, copy needs, and phone calls.
Cleaning will include: vacuuming, emptying trash, sweeping the turf side track, and cleaning/restocking bathrooms and janitorial closet.
Properly report and document accidents and/or incidents
Support all facility programming as directed by supervisor.
Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.
Must be comfortable working in a team and independent environment under potentially stressful conditions.
Support and actively contribute to the goal of achieving greater diversity, inclusion and equity at the Harry J McDonald Memorial Center and work effectively with all members of the community.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following facility procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using resources wisely and supporting the Harry J McDonald Memorial Center sustainability initiatives and innovation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

17 years of age
Must have good customer service skills, must be pleasant, energetic, and self-motivated.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Must have good attendance and punctual practices to the scheduled hours.
Ability to recognize and troubleshoot issues that may arise with software, computers, or POS system.
Proficient with computer software to include Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of experience in customer service industry in the sports facility setting.
Experience using POS system and facility management software.
Strong commitment to customer service.
Ability to multi-task, work independently and self-motivate.
