Full Job Description

We're looking for a reliable, warm, and proactive Part-Time Personal Assistant to support a young adult with autism (low support needs) with day-to-day activities, errands, organization, and navigating everyday life with greater independence.

This role is ideal for someone who is naturally organized, dependable, patient, and comfortable providing hands-on support while also encouraging independence. The goal is not to do everything for the individual, but to provide the right level of assistance to help them stay organized, follow through on responsibilities, navigate everyday situations, and build confidence managing life independently.

The role will involve a combination of practical assistance at home, transportation and community outings, organization, errands, and general day-to-day support. The ideal person is someone who enjoys working one-on-one, is comfortable taking initiative, and can create a positive and low-pressure environment.

What You'll Do

Provide one-on-one support with everyday tasks, errands, and activities.
Help create routines and systems that make daily life easier and more manageable.
Help organize schedules, daily tasks, errands, and responsibilities.
Help plan, grocery shop for, and prepare simple everyday meals.
Help maintain an organized home and stocked kitchen.
Provide reminders and accountability around tasks and commitments when needed.
Provide transportation to and from community activities and appointments.
Accompany the individual to appointments, shopping trips, coffee outings, walks, and other community activities.
Communicate relevant updates, challenges, or areas of progress to the individual's family or support team as appropriate.
Provide calm, respectful support when challenges or unexpected situations arise.
Encourage independence by helping when needed without unnecessarily taking over.
Maintain appropriate boundaries while building a trusting, respectful, and positive working relationship.

About You

Reliable, responsible, organized, and proactive.
Warm, patient, and calm under pressure.
Comfortable cooking simple meals and grocery shopping.
Enjoy working one-on-one and getting out into the community.
Good communicator who is respectful of personal boundaries.
Comfortable supporting a neurodivergent young adult and adapting to their needs.
Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
Able to balance encouragement and accountability with independence.

Bonus Points

Prior experience as a personal assistant, caregiver, aide, paraprofessional, tutor, mentor, camp counselor, or in another hands-on support role.
Experience working with autistic or otherwise neurodivergent individuals.
Background in psychology, education, child development, occupational therapy, speech and language, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and experience helping someone establish routines.
Positive, encouraging energy and a good sense of humor.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
