Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Principal, the Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties and performs other related tasks as required by the administrative or other supervisory staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with data entry functions for the student information system, including, but not limited to, demographics and attendance.
Greets and checks in guests, completing a security check and issuing visitor badges.
Communicates with instructional personnel regarding a variety of topics.
Assists with the process of student registration including parent completion of registration forms upon entry and student withdrawal forms upon exit.
Performs front office duties such as answering phone calls, checking in guests, and addressing student needs.
Assists with SIS access for parents.
Maintains confidentiality of student information and records.
Supports and acts in accordance with all Bay Haven Charter Academy, Inc. Board of Directors goals, objectives and policies, and other federal and state laws.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Data entry experience in a school setting is preferred.
Experience working with FOCUS is preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to multitask.
Great oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel).
Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to maintain strict organization and student confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods of time.
Periodic need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds and/or perform a two-person lift greater than 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally performed in a fast-paced, high volume, school/office environment.
Must be able to tolerate varying environmental conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, rain, etc.
Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from administrators, staff members, students, and others.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel to various school, district, state, and/or community events may be required.
