Full Job Description

At Steelbach, dining is more than a meal it's a celebration of the South's rich culinary heritage, reimagined with bold creativity and timeless warmth. As a Three Oaks Hospitality concept nestled within the iconic Armature Works property, we've built something special: a Southern-inspired kitchen and chophouse where grass-fed beef from Florida's finest producers meets handcrafted dishes rooted in simplicity and soul.

Steelbach is seeking a talented and passionate Grill Cook to join our culinary team. Our grill cooks are responsible for cooking our aged beef over 1000-degree oak and mesquite open fire grille. This will include braising and grilling meat, vegetables, and other types of food as needed. If you take pride in cooking over an open fire, respect quality ingredients, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance kitchen, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do:

Braise and grill meat and vegetables with a high degree of skill
Assist in maintaining inventory by tracking, labeling, and replacing key ingredients
Prepare meat and vegetables by slicing, cutting, shredding, and tenderizing them as needed
Communicate with the head chef and wait staff to ensure the timely delivery of all meals
Comply with food and health regulations and safety standards.
Maintain a workstation that is both clean and sanitary
Communicate with the restaurant manager about any kitchen supplies and upgrades that are needed
Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
Stock inventory appropriately
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

Experience with grilling steaks and premium proteins.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence.
Knowledge of different grilling methods like direct heat grilling, smoking, and rotisserie grilling
Knowledge of industry standards and food safety guidelines
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma or GED.
Culinary school diploma preferred.
Valid Food Handlers Certificate.
Previous experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Remain standing for extended periods of time.
Bending, squatting and lifting up to 20 lbs. for short distances.
Ability to work with varying noise levels
