Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for processing certain aspects of accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers. Your expertise in financial software, accounting principles, and data entry will help maintain the integrity of our financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization committed to operational excellence and financial transparency.

Duties

Process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using accounting software ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly through effective communication with suppliers.
Prepare and review journal entries related to accounts payable transactions, maintaining adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including data entry.
Assist with month-end closing activities by performing account reconciliations and verifying the accuracy of ledger entries.
Support benefits administration and non-profit accounting functions as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable processing within a corporate or public accounting environment.
Strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency with financial software.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency) and attention to detail.
