Fence Operations Manager

ABOUT US

Resource Rental is a multi-division equipment and specialty rental company serving construction, event, and municipal clients across the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. We've built long-term relationships in this market by showing up reliably and solving problems fast. Fence

Operations is one of our core divisions — temporary fencing for construction sites, events, and infrastructure projects.

THE ROLE

We're looking for an operations manager to run the coordination and management side of Fence Operations. You'll own the schedule, manage client communication, handle invoicing, and lead the Field Execution Leader and Yard Inventory Leader who report directly to you.

The primary base of this role is office and coordination — but you will maintain a regular operational presence on site, support field training, and provide coverage when a leader is absent or when large concurrent jobs require it.

The person who fills this seat is the nerve center of the division. When the schedule is accurate, clients are informed, invoices go out correctly, and the crew has what they need — that's this seat working.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Scheduling and logistics. Building and owning the job schedule 1 to 3 days ahead, assigning jobs to crews based on site complexity and crew qualification, cross-checking Focal Point and Trello daily, calling in 811 locates for applicable jobs, sourcing temporary labor when volume demands it.

Client communication - Owning all operational client contact, scheduling confirmations, day-of timing updates, and site change communication. Maintaining Trello with current job details and client preferences.

Quoting repeat and minor jobs; escalating new or complex quotes to leadership. Invoicing and job costing.

Ensuring all job sheets are turned in completely and accurately, processing invoices in FocalPoint with correct quantities and client coding, flagging discrepancies before invoices go out. This is the hardest skill in the seat and the highest-risk transition point — accuracy here is non-negotiable.

LMA

Leading, managing, and holding the Field Execution Leader and Yard Inventory Leader accountable. Weekly check-ins, clear expectations, and outcomes — not just activity.

Operational improvement

Documenting scheduling heuristics and job-type time standards, identifying recurring problems and proposing solutions, supporting the operational review process with data.

Operational presence and coverage

Maintaining a regular and positive presence on site — visible to the crew, contributing to training, and reinforcing standards without displacing the Field Execution Leader's authority.

Providing direct operational coverage when the Field Execution Leader is absent or when large concurrent jobs require an additional capable person on the ground. Office work does not pause when you are on site — the right candidate manages both without letting either slip.

WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE

At 90 days, ownership is not fielding scheduling or client communication calls. At 12 months, the scheduling logic is documented, the invoicing process is accurate and transferable, and the Field Execution Leader and Yard Leader are running their seats with minimal escalation to this one.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You've managed people before and you're good at it — clear expectations, consistent accountability, no drama. You're highly organized, calm under the genuine complexity of a multi-job schedule, and comfortable in software. Invoicing and data accuracy come naturally to you.

You're credible on a job site — not because you're doing the installation work, but because you understand it and the crew knows it. Experience in construction, fencing, event services, or a field-based service operation is strongly preferred.

What won't work: no prior management experience, a reactive communication style, or

someone who has never been near a job site and has no interest in being.
