Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – Sedation & Anesthesia Monitoring Job Overview

We are a growing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to assist with office-based anesthesia and sedation monitoring in an ambulatory surgical setting.

This is a part-time, permanent position (2–3 weekdays per week) with daytime hours only—no nights, weekends, or call. The ideal candidate has prior experience in procedural sedation, anesthesia, PACU, OR, GI, or similar settings and is comfortable with airway awareness, physiologic monitoring, and recovery care.

This role is well-suited for an RN looking to step away from hospital shifts into a predictable, low-stress outpatient environment while maintaining a high level of clinical responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor patients undergoing moderate to deep sedation in an outpatient oral surgery setting
Perform pre-sedation assessments, including vitals, medical history review, and IV access
Continuous monitoring of airway, cardiovascular, and respiratory status during procedures
Assist with post-sedation recovery and discharge readiness
Maintain accurate anesthesia and nursing documentation
Assist with emergency preparedness and response per ACLS protocols
Collaborate closely with the surgeon/anesthesia provider to ensure patient safety and efficiency

Required Qualifications

Active Arkansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
ACLS certification (required)
Prior experience with sedation or anesthesia monitoring (PACU, OR, GI lab, endoscopy, oral surgery, or similar)
Strong clinical judgment, calm demeanor, and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

PALS certification
Experience in an ambulatory or office-based anesthesia setting
Familiarity with emergency airway equipment and sedation protocols

Schedule

Part-time: 2–3 weekdays per week
16–24 hours per week
Daytime hours only
No nights, weekends, or call

$45–$65 per hour, based on experience and certifications
