Join our team as a Human Resources Coordinator!

Are you an organized, people-focused HR professional who enjoys making a positive impact behind the scenes? REED Autism Services is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to support key HR functions across the employee lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to grow your HR career with a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Job Overview

The HR Coordinator provides operational and administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring the efficient delivery of recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, learning and development, performance management and employee support activities. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate people records, coordinating key HR processes and delivering a positive employee experience while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Coordinate recruitment activities, including advertising vacancies, processing applications, screening candidates and scheduling interviews.
Prepare interview packs and employment documentation.
Coordinate pre-employment checks and new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
Maintain Dayforce recruiting module (ATS), recruitment trackers and talent databases.
Communicate recruitment outcomes and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
Prepare employment documentation and maintain employee personnel files.

HR Administration & Records

Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
Process, verify and update personnel documentation relating to employment, training, performance, classifications and leave.
Respond to employee and authorised external enquiries and prepare HR reports and correspondence.
Support compliance reporting and audit preparation.

Employee Relations & Unemployment Administration

Administer employee separation processes, including terminations, resignations, retirements, layoffs, and reductions in force (RIF).
Report all employee separations through the New Jersey Employer Unemployment Portal, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with state requirements.
Support the HR Dept with efforts to respond to unemployment insurance claims, verify employment and wage information, and prepare documentation for appeals.
Coordinate with HR, Payroll, and management to maintain accurate employee records and separation documentation.
Ensure compliance with New Jersey unemployment insurance regulations, company policies, and reporting deadlines.

Employee Support & Benefits

Assist with the administration of employee benefits, workers' compensation and other people programs.

Performance & Learning Support

Coordinate performance review administration, including documentation, tracking and reporting.
Coordinate internal and external learning and development activities and maintain training records.
Administer employee assessments where required and maintain associated records.

Office Support

Provide administrative support to HR team
Coordinate meetings, workshops and team events.
Support delivery of HR initiatives.
Assist with continuous improvement projects.

Skills

1-3 years' experience in Human Resources, supporting across the employee lifecycle.
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. (Bachelor's degree preferred)
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or aPHR) is desirable but not required.
Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
Strong written and verbal communication.
High attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Dayforce experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
