Full Job Description

Position Summary

Wellness and Pain is seeking a board-certified physiatrist to provide per diem electrodiagnostic services across our multi-specialty practice locations in New York and New Jersey. This is a focused, procedure-only engagement limited to electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies. The ideal candidate brings strong electrodiagnostic expertise, efficient throughput, and a commitment to high-quality reporting.

Position Details

Title: Per Diem Physiatrist — Electrodiagnostic Services

Classification: Independent Contractor (1099)

Schedule: Per diem; days scheduled by mutual agreement

Location(s): Various NY and NJ locations

Reports To: Chief Medical Officer

Scope of Services

This role is limited to electrodiagnostic services only and does not include general physiatry clinic responsibilities, pain management procedures, or administrative duties.

Services include:

Perform and interpret electromyography (EMG) studies
Perform and interpret nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies
Complete written reports for all studies same day or within 24 hours
Coordinate with referring providers and clinical staff as needed
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in ECW (eClinicalWorks)

Compensation

Full Day Rate: $1,500 (approximately 8–10 studies)

Half Day Rate: $800 (approximately 4–5 studies)

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology
Fellowship or advanced training in electrodiagnostic medicine preferred
Active New York and New Jersey medical license
AANEM membership or equivalent electrodiagnostic credentialing preferred
Minimum 2 years of EMG/NCV experience in a clinical setting
Proficiency with electrodiagnostic equipment and EMG reporting systems

Additional Requirements

Active professional liability / malpractice insurance (tail coverage required)
Completion of credentialing and privileging prior to start date
Compliance with all policies, HIPAA, and applicable regulations

Pay: $800.00 - $1,500.00 per day

Work Location: In person
