Job Summary

The Safety Specialist promotes a culture of safety by conducting audits, training, and providing guidance to leadership and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across production areas, offices, and facilities.
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA)
Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions
Maintain accurate documentation of safety records, including training logs, incident reports, and audit findings.
Provide safety training and toolbox talks for team members and supervisors. (e.g., 5S)
Work closely with management to develop safety goals and objectives and track progress.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents, preparing reports and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Support Safety Committee activities and engage employees in continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote and monitor PPE usage, ergonomic practices, and safe work behaviors.
Assist in emergency response planning, drills and preparedness activities.
Collaborate with HR, Production, and Maintenance to identify hazards and develop preventive measures.

Other duties may be assigned: Support Annual Air Permit, Support Environmental Certificate, Develop & Maintain LOTO and

Annual Sprinkler System Back Flow Inspection

Job Qualifications

Previous 2 years safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt and analyze
Ability to solve problems, be creative and resourceful
Detail-orientated, high level of accuracy, and organization skills.
Dexterity and Versatility
Interpersonal, social and listening skills

Computer Skills

Internet software, Excel (Basic Formula Skill) , Microsoft Word and Power Point.

Language Skills

Bilingual is not required but a plus.

Work Environment

Manufacturing/production facility setting.
Frequent time spent on the production floor.
