FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – WINDOW AND DOOR
Job Overview
The Field Service Technician will be responsible for supporting Chelsea’s Window and Door fabricators, focusing on best practices in manufacturing techniques that ensure production of excellent quality products. This role is required to be a “hands-on” resource working directly with customers. The ideal candidate will be a resource for technical information pertaining to Chelsea products processing, certification and performance. This role will be regionally based in the Texas region, and the candidate will have the ability to access the Chelsea Greenville TX location.
Responsibilities
· Responsible for on-site travel to customer facilities to support new and existing customers looking to start up a new fabrication process using Chelsea material or to expand fabrication to include new profiles.
· Serve as a resource for window and door manufacturing processes, equipment and product knowledge. Provide regular, ongoing technical and process support for Chelsea customers.
· Generate reports summarizing customer site visits and develop action plans to improve processes or product quality. Provide feedback to the product engineering and sales teams regarding health of customer manufacturing process and product quality.
· Serve as technical champion/liaison between customers and Chelsea Building Products Sales and Engineering teams.
· Assist with documentation and information management to various hardware, tooling and equipment suppliers.
· Assist in training fabricator employees in the proper manufacturing process to build Chelsea Building Products window and door systems.
· Engage in Continuous Education of window/door fabrication methods including process, tooling, hardware and support process optimization.
· Support Product Design Engineering team to provide insight around design for manufacturability for new product design projects.
Reporting Structure
· This role will report directly to the Sr. Product Development & Engineering Manager

Required
· 3-5+ years’ experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing, fabrication or industrial operations processes or business
· Excellent Technical ability and familiarity with fabrication tools such as saws, drill press, mechanical punch equipment
· Strong Project Management skills and ability to manage workload independently
· 2D / 3D CAD Experience (AutoCAD, Inventor)
· Excellent Problem-Solving Skills
· Strong Organizational and Communications Skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
· Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
· Ability to travel up to 60% (weekends not required)
Preferred
· Prior experience within window and door manufacturing industry
· Associates or bachelor’s degree in Technical Field (ex. Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering)
· Experience working within a role requiring engagement with direct customers or project stakeholders
· Bi-Lingual, specifically proficiency speaking Spanish a plus
· Experience using JIRA or Microsoft Project a plus
