Overview
Join our dynamic team as a pJ's Trailer Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining our mobile youth program trailers. You will ensure that all trailers are properly equipped, safe, and ready to deliver enriching experiences for children and young people across various community settings. Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and organization of pJ's trailers to ensure they are fully stocked with supplies for various youth activities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of trailers, including checking for proper functioning of equipment such as AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), first aid kits, and other safety gear.
- Implement and follow first aid protocols in case of minor injuries or emergencies during program activities.
- Supervise children and youth participants during outdoor activities, ensuring their safety through effective child supervision and behavior management strategies.
- Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts, theater experiences, sports, and educational games that promote childhood development.
- Lead team efforts in setting up outdoor workspaces for camps or community events while adhering to safety standards and outdoor work best practices.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and execute youth development programs that align with organizational goals and community needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, including camp experience or youth programs teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to foster a positive environment.
- Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, AED operation, and First Aid protocols are required; additional certifications in Christian counseling or theater experience are a plus.
- Experience in outdoor work environments with an understanding of outdoor safety procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of child supervision and childcare.
- Background in childhood development or special education is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to youth services.
