Job Summary:
Performs administrative duties under general supervision of Utilities Supervisor. The individual in this position is responsible for providing excellent customer service. All work must be performed in accordance with established Tribal and department policies, and the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Duties & Functions:
- This position is responsible for answering and transferring phone calls to respective offices
- Process all Utility payments to proper account.
- Handle large amounts of cash and able to balance at the end of day.
- Assist Customers with their accounts and account balance information.
- Run end of day reports.
- Basic clerical duties to support the Utilities Department Administrative Office.
- Taking messages and greeting the public that come into the office for services.
- Work involves relaying emergency repair orders or requests from Accounting or the public to the water crew.
- The incumbent will handle I.H.S. projects for construction/ such as, maintain files of correspondence, personnel files, and timecards.
- Coordinate activities of operation with other Tribal and Federal Governmental agencies.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Director or designee to fulfill the Department's needs, objectives and/or goals.
- Follow established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Incumbent must have knowledge and skill of office equipment
- Knowledge, skills and ability to work confidentially
- Skill and ability to work with a high level of customer service; being polite and helpful.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally, in person and by telephone.
- Knowledge of department's computers and programs
- Ability to work harmoniously with other staff in departments.
Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Must possess a current valid driver's license throughout employment
Physical Requirement:
- Must successfully complete a drug screening test prior to appointment
- Physically able to perform duties assigned
- Occasionally work extended shifts as assigned, some weekends and holiday
