Aya Healthcare has an exciting Cook contract opportunity in Medina, OH!

Job Details:

JOB TITLE: Cook

CONTRACT DURATION: 13 Weeks – Temp to Hire Opportunity

LOCATION: Medina, Ohio

PAY: $17/hr

SHIFT: | Onsite

5 shifts/week, 8.5-hour shifts | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Rotating weekends

ONBOARDING TIME: Expect 2–3 weeks between offer to start date

INTERVIEW: In-person interview required at:
Medina, Ohio 44256

Job Description and Requirements:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a fast-paced food service environment while following established recipes, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines. This role supports daily kitchen operations through food preparation, cooking, workstation maintenance, and collaboration with the food service team.

Candidates must have previous line cook experience and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and production schedules

· Perform food preparation duties including ingredient preparation, portioning, and assembly

· Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards

· Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

· Monitor food quality, temperature controls, and presentation standards

· Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout the shift

· Assist with stocking, inventory rotation, and food storage procedures

· Collaborate with kitchen and food service staff to ensure timely meal production

· Follow all departmental policies and safety procedures

· Perform duties efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Minimum 1 year of relevant cooking experience required

· Previous line cook experience required

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment

· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

· Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

· Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous healthcare, hospital, cafeteria, restaurant, or institutional food service experience

· Experience preparing large-volume meals

· Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and food production systems

Requirements (due at time of phone screen with recruiter):

· Resume with last seven years of work history if applicable - all work history gaps of 90+ days must be explained

· Upcoming requested time off for the duration of the contract

· Interview availability for the next 7–10 days
