Senior Accountant

Manatee County, Florida | On-Site

Join a Growing Real Estate Organization

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team supporting a growing portfolio of mobile home communities throughout Florida. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the full financial cycle, working closely with operations, and helping drive process improvements across multiple entities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while supporting property operations, ownership, and executive management. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio and contribute to strategic business decisions.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Close Process

Manage monthly and year-end close processes for assigned communities and related entities.
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules.
Analyze financial results and investigate variances, trends, and operational issues.
Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

Property & Revenue Accounting

Maintain and reconcile rent rolls, security deposits, and tenant accounts.
Record and monitor revenue from home sales, notes receivable, and park-owned home rentals.
Ensure financial records accurately reflect property operations and cash activity.

Accounts Payable & Cash Management

Review vendor invoices and payment activity for accuracy and proper coding.
Reconcile utility billings and ensure timely vendor payments.
Monitor cash activity and assist with bank reconciliations.

Asset & Insurance Administration

Track capital expenditures and fixed assets by property.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and asset records.
Coordinate insurance renewals, policy changes, and payment tracking.

Compliance & Process Improvement

Prepare 1099’s, sales tax filings, and property tax submissions.
Assist with year end tax reporting, any agency audit requests and compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting efficiencies, and internal controls.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Previous property management accounting experience required.
Strong understanding of cash-basis accounting.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience managing multiple entities and locations.

Preferred Qualifications

Mobile home community or multifamily housing experience.
CPA designation or progress toward certification a plus.
Experience with accounting and property management programs like: ManageAmerica, AppFolio, Rent Manager, QuickBooks Enterprise, Bill.com, AvidXchange
