Full Job Description

We offer rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction.

We are seeking a talented Design Manager to support the development of new and improved products while managing design schedules in coordination with Architects of Record (AORs) across multiple projects.

This role may be based in one of the following locations:

San Antonio, TX
Waterford, NY
Allenwood, PA
Galveston, TX
Houston, TX
Negotiated location (TBD)

Position Summary

The Design Manager plays a key role in coordinating design execution across multiple projects, ensuring alignment between internal teams, external design partners, and project schedules. This position works closely with the Design Director and cross-functional teams to maintain design quality, schedule adherence, and effective information flow.

Core Responsibilities

Design Management

Manage day-to-day design schedules for Architects of Record across multiple projects
Coordinate closely with the Document Manager on receipt, tracking, storage, and distribution of design submissions
Support submission processes for Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), ensuring completeness and compliance

BIM & Digital Standards

Oversee management and control of our BIM environment and intellectual property
Maintain and standardize current and legacy BIM files, including development and implementation of templates
Ensure BIM standards are established, followed, and continuously improved

Cross-Functional Coordination

Facilitate effective communication and coordination across internal teams, consultants, and project stakeholders
Support the Design Director in maintaining efficient workflows and information exchange

Design & Client Support

Assist in development of graphics, renderings, and visual materials to support client presentations and business development efforts
Contribute to design solutions that clearly communicate the value of our modular approach

Key Responsibilities

Develop creative, practical design solutions using our components while maintaining high design standards
Coordinate drawings, specifications, and documentation with architects and engineers of record to ensure alignment with design intent and schedule
Support collaboration across project teams to generate innovative and efficient solutions
Assist in implementing QA/QC procedures and resolving design-related issues
Maintain adherence to project schedules, deliverables, and work plans
Participate in client presentations and contribute to successful project delivery

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or Construction Management
(Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in architecture, construction, or manufacturing environments, preferably on commercial projects
Progress toward professional licensure preferred; LEED AP or similar credentials a plus

Technical Skills

Required:

Microsoft 365

Preferred:

Procore
Newforma
Microsoft Project or other scheduling software
Lumion or other rendering software
Adobe InDesign

Strong technical design capability with the ability to evaluate and recommend practical solutions
