Full Job Description

CNC Machinist

Business Unit: Sulzer Turbo Services, Houston, Inc.

Department: MFG

Reports to: MFG Division Superintendent

Company Overview:

Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) is an independent provider of services and repairs of critical turbomachinery. We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of parts for high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial rotating equipment found primarily in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer and Power Generation markets.

Responsibilities:

· Work closely and clearly communicates with the other departments, Supervisor, and Lead Man.

· Operate machine to make complex angle cuts and threading where multiple speeds and feeds are required.

· Read blueprints, drawings and sketches that may require intermediate math and problems solving skills to calculate dimensions not specified on print.

· Operate machine, organize tooling, and organize project parts.

· Maintain LEAN objectives within the department.

· Complete all documentation pertaining to the work assignment.

· Have and maintain ability to use and operate the overhead cranes, torches, grinders and forklifts.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

· Must have 5+ years’ experience working as a CNC Mill Machinist.

· Must have worked with 5 axis and be able to use precision measuring instruments.

· Must be able to work overtime and weekends, when necessary.

Shift:

Working hours will be determined by workload and shift coverage needs. Typically, Day Shift will start at 5:00AM and ends between 1:30PM and 5:00PM; Night Shift will start between 3:30PM and 5:00PM and will end between 12:00AM and 5:00AM.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
