Full Job Description

Job Overview

Loxicom is seeking a skilled and professional Security Systems Technician to install, program, and service access control and security camera equipment for our residential and commercial clients. In this role you'll handle everything from running and terminating low-voltage cable to configuring cameras, door controllers, and access control software — and you'll do it while representing our company well in front of clients. This is a hands-on field position for someone who takes pride in clean installations, reliable systems, and excellent customer service.

Duties

Install, program, configure, and troubleshoot security camera systems (IP and analog), NVRs/DVRs, and video management software.
Install and program access control systems, including door controllers, card readers, keypads, electric strikes, maglocks, and request-to-exit devices.
Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coax) and mount cameras, panels, and related hardware.
Configure networking components such as switches, IP addressing, and remote access for cameras and access control platforms.
Diagnose and repair system faults on-site, using multimeters and other tools to identify wiring and power issues.
Travel to client homes and businesses to perform installations, service calls, and system inspections.
Walk clients through how to use their systems and provide clear, professional guidance and support.
Document work performed, equipment installed, and system configurations accurately.
Follow all safety and quality standards on every job.

Requirements

Hands-on experience installing and programming access control and/or security camera systems.
Working knowledge of low-voltage wiring, cable termination, and mounting hardware.
Networking fundamentals: IP addressing, switches, and remote system access.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and system layouts.
Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools like a multimeter.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients in English.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift equipment, use ladders/lifts, and work in various field conditions.
Familiarity with major brands (e.g., Avigilon, Hikvision, Axis, Openpath, Kantech, or similar) is a plus.
Prior military experience or relevant industry certifications are a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
