Full Job Description

Job Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented medical revenue cycle professional looking to make a difference in a fast-paced central billing office? Join our dedicated billing office team as an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of our organization while supporting high-quality patient care.. This role is crucial in supporting our medical office operations, requiring familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems.

Responsibilities

Code and Post Daily Charges
Analyze and Reconcile Patient Balance and Collections
Manage insurance and patient accounts receivable follow-up to ensure timely reimbursement
Review and resolve denied or underpaid claims; perform appeals as needed
Apply knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, including modifiers and multiple procedure billing rules
Monitor aging reports and work A/R by payer and balance thresholds
Collaborate with payers and internal teams to clarify coding, authorization, and documentation issues
Understand and apply payor-specific billing requirements and contract terms
Assist with patient inquiries and provide clear, professional communication regarding balances

Experience

Minimum 2 years of medical billing/accounts receivable experience (ENT or surgical specialty preferred)
Strong understanding of insurance payor mix and reimbursement processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, etc.)
Familiarity with multiple procedure rules and modifier usage
CPC certification preferred but not required
Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems; strong Excel skills a plus
