Job Title: 1st Class Structural Welder (Welder A)Location: Pascagoula, MSJob Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced 1st Class Structural Welder (Welder A) to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. This role is responsible for welding structural metal components according to blueprints, work orders, and verbal instructions. The ideal candidate has strong marine welding experience and can consistently produce high-quality welds that meet inspection standards.General FunctionWeld structural metal components using appropriate techniques and equipment, ensuring all work meets required specifications, safety standards, and quality inspections.Typical Duties & ResponsibilitiesWeld structural components based on blueprints, work orders, and instructionsApply knowledge of metallic and non-metallic material characteristicsPerform welding on butts and bulbs in all positionsSuccessfully pass Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) inspectionsPerform tank testing and related duties as requiredEnsure compliance with all safety and quality standardsMaintain welding equipment and work areaMust-Have RequirementsMinimum 3 years of 1st Class Journeyman marine welding experienceAbility to weld in all positions (vertical, overhead, etc.)Proven ability to pass UT and MT testingAbility to pass required welding certification testsStrong understanding of blueprints and welding symbolsReliable attendance and ability to work full-timePreferred QualificationsShipyard or marine industry experienceExperience with structural steel and heavy fabricationFamiliarity with tank testing proceduresAdditional welding certificationsStrong attention to detail and quality controlAbility to work independently and as part of a teamRequired Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency in multiple welding techniquesStrong understanding of material propertiesAbility to follow technical instructions and drawingsPhysical ability to work in demanding environments (heights, confined spaces, etc.)Commitment to safety and quality workmanshipWhippy Interview Questions (6)Can you describe your experience welding butts and bulbs in all positions?Have you previously passed UT and MT inspections?
