Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This role combines expert estimating skills with effective project management, ensuring projects are accurately bid, efficiently managed, and completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong communication, negotiation, and technical abilities to deliver exceptional results across all phases of construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while advancing your career in the construction industry. Base Salary + Commissions!

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed project estimates by analyzing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
Manage the entire project lifecycle from initial bid through completion, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control.
Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details and accurately estimate material requirements.
Develop comprehensive budgets for construction projects by assessing labor, material costs, subcontractor quotes, and equipment needs.
Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong professional relationships.
Utilize construction management software to track project progress, update cost estimates, and manage change orders effectively.
Oversee material cost estimating and ensure accurate pricing for all project components while controlling costs throughout the project duration.
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
Lead project meetings to coordinate teams, review progress against budgets, and resolve any issues promptly.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities, review progress against plans, and ensure safety standards are maintained.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing construction projects as an estimator or project manager within the commercial construction industry.
Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam; experience with Xactimate is a plus.
Excellent blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
Solid understanding of construction management software tools for scheduling, budgeting, and document control.
Demonstrated ability in negotiation with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve optimal outcomes.
Extensive knowledge of construction estimating processes including cost management, material requirements estimation from blueprints, and pricing strategies.
Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and construction site safety protocols.
Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
Construction industry experience with a focus on estimation for commercial projects is essential; prior site experience is highly valued.
