We are seeking a highly organized, fashion-forward Assistant Buyer & Merchandising Coordinator to support our buying, merchandising, inventory, and vendor operations. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves fashion, trends, product strategy, and visual presentation and wants to learn the business side of luxury retail.

Position Summary

The Assistant Buyer & Merchandising Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Buying Team and ensuring product moves seamlessly from purchase to sales floor. This position assists with buying administration, merchandising execution, inventory management, vendor communication, returns processing, and merchandise transfers.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about fashion. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving problems, and have a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Key ResponsibilitiesBuying Support

Assist buyers with purchase orders, order entry, and product management.
Prepare reports and information for vendor meetings and market appointments.
Track incoming merchandise, deliveries, reorders, and special orders.
Maintain accurate product information and vendor records.
Support buyers with trend research and product analysis.

Merchandising

Execute visual merchandising standards throughout the store.
Assist with floor sets, seasonal launches, and product placement.
Maintain a luxury shopping environment that reflects the Ambiance brand.
Partner with leadership to identify merchandising opportunities that drive sales.
Ensure merchandise is presented in a visually compelling and organized manner.

Inventory & Product Operations

Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Assist with receiving, transfers, inventory audits, and stock organization.
Help maintain inventory accuracy across all locations.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Support markdown execution and inventory management initiatives.

Returns, Swaps & Vendor Relations

Process Return Authorizations (RAs) and vendor claims.
Coordinate merchandise swaps between stores and vendors.
Track outstanding credits, returns, and replacement merchandise.
Communicate with vendors regarding damaged, defective, or incorrect products.
Ensure all inventory adjustments are properly documented and completed.

Reporting & Analysis

Generate weekly and monthly sales and inventory reports.
Monitor sell-through performance and inventory productivity.
Identify top-performing and underperforming products.
Provide insights and recommendations to support buying decisions.

Qualifications

Passion for fashion, luxury retail, and product merchandising.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
Comfortable working with spreadsheets and retail systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
Retail, merchandising, inventory, or buying experience preferred.
Visual merchandising experience is a plus.
