Kings Oil Tools is looking for a Senior HR Generalist to deliver high-quality employee support, coordinate core HR programs, benefits, onboarding, and leaves of absence. This role provides day-to-day HR guidance and plays a critical part in maintaining a positive employee experience by supporting internal HR processes and policies, contributing to employee relations, and ensuring accurate and timely HR operations.
Candidates are expected to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, high attention to detail, problem-solving and critical thinking, and strong organizational and time management skills, ability to manage confidential information, adaptability, working knowledge of benefits and leave programs, comfort with HR systems and data accuracy, and a collaborative approach to HR service delivery.
The position is fully in-person at Kings Oil Tools’ corporate office in Paso Robles. Additionally, visits to the company’s various locations is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 4-5 years of HR experience including benefits, onboarding and employee relations support
- Strong knowledge of California Labor Laws and compliance
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys change
- Strong leadership skills: collaboration, communication, influence, drive for results, effective planning / prioritization, project management, organization
- Effective presentation skills. Comfortable presenting information to both small and large groups of employees
- Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and human resources information systems or other HR technology such as; Paylocity and Employee Navigator
- B.S. degree in Human Resources, Business or a related-field – or equivalent experience
- HR certification preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Program Administration
- Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, serving as a resource for employee questions and education.
- Administer employee leaves of absence, ensuring timely communication, documentation, and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of employee records across HR systems and platforms.
- Serve as main employee/manager source of communication and assistance with payroll and timecard administration.
- Maintain employee HRIS records and electronic personnel records.
- Maintain working knowledge of California and federal employment laws as well as HR best practices
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Own and continuously improve the new hire onboarding process, including delivering orientations, coordinating system and benefits setup, and ensuring a smooth employee transition.
- Support employee engagement programs and recognition efforts.
- Assist with internal communications related to benefits, wellness, and policy updates.
Employee Relations & Policy Support
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct employee relations activities, including employee relations investigations, documentation, and coaching conversations. Provide solid written documentation for employee relations items complaints/concerns
General HR Support
- Assist the HR Manager in day-to-day operations and implementation of HR programs.
- Participate in cross-functional HR team efforts such as annual enrollment, compliance initiatives, and employee training coordination.
- Stay informed on employment laws, leave regulations, and compliance standards, and apply knowledge to everyday HR practices.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
