Dental Treatment Coordinator / Patient Care Coordinator

Comprehensive Periodontics & Dental Implants
Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Maria/Orcutt, California
Full-time | $23–$33 per hour

About Our Practice:

Comprehensive Periodontics & Dental Implants is a respected, fast-paced periodontal and dental implant specialty practice serving patients throughout California’s Central Coast.

We are seeking a motivated, caring, and highly organized Dental Treatment Coordinator who communicates confidently, works well as part of a team, and is committed to providing an exceptional patient experience.

This is more than a traditional receptionist position. The Treatment Coordinator serves as an important connection between our patients, referring dental offices, doctors, and clinical team—from the patient’s first phone call through completion of treatment and follow-up care.

Position Overview:

This is a full-time, multi-location position anticipated to include approximately:

Two to three days per week in our Paso Robles office
One day per week in our Santa Maria/Orcutt office
One to two days per week in our San Luis Obispo office

The specific combination of days will vary based on practice and patient-care needs. Reliable transportation and the ability to work at all three locations are required.

Your primary goal will be to ensure that every patient arrives prepared for a well-coordinated appointment, moves smoothly through the treatment process, and leaves with a clear understanding of their treatment plan, financial responsibilities, and next steps.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and referring dental offices.
Communicate with patients in a warm, professional, and reassuring manner.
Coordinate patient care from the initial referral or phone call through consultation, treatment, and follow-up.
Present treatment plans clearly and help patients understand recommended care, fees, sequencing, and next steps.
Answer patient questions and address concerns that may otherwise prevent or delay treatment.
Coordinate appointments, treatment phases, and communication among patients, doctors, clinical team members, and referring offices.
Manage the appointment schedule and scheduling templates to support efficient patient flow, appropriate clinical utilization, and practice production goals.
Confirm that required records, referrals, radiographs, medical information, and other documentation are obtained before appointments.
Assist patients with scheduling, payment arrangements, insurance-related questions, and applicable practice financial policies.
Collect payments and ensure that patient accounts and appointment information are complete and accurate.
Maintain detailed and professional documentation in the patient record.
Support front-office operations, including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and responding to messages.
Help create a calm, organized, and welcoming experience for patients undergoing periodontal and implant treatment.
Collaborate closely with doctors, clinical team members, and other administrative staff across multiple locations.

Dependable transportation and the ability to work in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria/Orcutt, and Paso Robles

Previous dental front-office, treatment-coordination, scheduling, insurance, or specialty-practice experience is strongly preferred. Periodontal or dental implant experience is beneficial but not required for a candidate with strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn.

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus but are not required.

Compensation:

$23–$33 per hour
Compensation is based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and overall fit for the position.
