Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, managing pharmacy operations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Your dedication to accuracy, patient service, and pharmaceutical procedures will help us deliver exceptional healthcare services in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills within hospital, community, or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy settings.

Duties

Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications, following aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures.
Assist pharmacists with medication reviews, drug utilization reviews, and ensuring pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
Enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to data entry protocols.
Support patient care activities by providing medication information, answering patient inquiries, and delivering excellent customer service.
Manage inventory by ordering supplies, verifying stock levels, and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with state and federal pharmacy laws.
Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, compounding procedures, and medication administration documentation.
Follow hospital or community pharmacy protocols for drug regulation, pharmacological terminology, and acute care procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy environments.
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, drug regulation, and pharmacy software systems.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; relevant state licensing or registration required where applicable.
Experience with IV compounding, sterile techniques, aseptic procedures, and pharmaceutical calculations is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, hospital or pharmacy policies related to drug regulation and medication administration.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
