Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a compassionate and organized Bilingual Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to become part of our growing healthcare team. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys providing hands-on patient care while delivering excellent front office support.

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish, have experience in a medical office setting, and be comfortable assisting patients throughout every stage of their visit. You will help ensure efficient daily operations while contributing to a positive patient experience across specialties.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome patients in English and Spanish, ensuring a friendly and professional experience.
Register patients, verify insurance coverage, update demographic information, collect copays, and manage patient check-in and check-out.
Schedule appointments, coordinate provider calendars, and respond to incoming phone calls and patient inquiries.
Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information using electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) systems.
Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient evaluations and procedures.
Support clinical care by administering medications as directed, assisting with X-rays when applicable, and providing BLS support during emergencies.
Coordinate referrals, prescription refill requests, follow-up appointments, and other patient care needs.
Assist with both inpatient and outpatient workflows, supporting providers across multiple specialties.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while following sterilization and infection prevention standards.
Assist with accurate documentation and coding to support proper billing and regulatory compliance.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to promote efficient clinic operations and quality patient care.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office, specialty clinic, urgent care, hospital, or outpatient setting.
Prior front desk experience involving appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, and telephone support is highly preferred.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and common clinical procedures.
Experience using EMR/EHR platforms along with Microsoft Office applications.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification a plus.
Additional certifications, including X-ray technology or EMR-specific training, are considered a plus.
Experience in hospital settings, including Level I or Level II trauma centers, is beneficial.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
Outstanding communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage both clinical and administrative responsibilities while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
