Full Job Description

Pay Rate : To Be Determined Based on Experience

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Private Yacht Chef with a strong specialization in Vegan Cuisine to join a private yacht operating in the United States.

This is a seasonal, full-time, live-aboard position for a chef who is creative, flexible, organized, and comfortable providing a high level of personalized service in a private yacht environment.

The Role

The primary culinary focus of this position is high-quality vegan cuisine. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of plant-based cooking and be able to create creative, flavorful, nutritionally balanced meals rather than simply adapting traditional dishes into vegan versions.

At the same time, the chef must be comfortable preparing non-vegan cuisine for other guests aboard the yacht, including meat, seafood, pasta, breakfast dishes, appetizers, desserts, and other requested meals.

The chef should be comfortable adapting menus to the preferences of the owner and guests and providing a personalized private-chef experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare high-quality breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and other meals while aboard the yacht
Create creative and varied vegan menus
Prepare traditional/non-vegan meals for other guests when requested
Accommodate dietary preferences, allergies, and special requests
Plan menus based on the owner's and guests' preferences
Purchase and provision fresh, high-quality ingredients
Maintain proper inventory of food and galley supplies
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary galley
Properly store and manage food while underway
Coordinate meal timing with the yacht's schedule and guest activities
Provide professional and discreet service in a private-yacht environment

Owner Meal Preparation

When requested, the chef may also be responsible for meal preparation for the owner, including preparing healthy meals in advance for future consumption.

Experience with nutritional meal planning, portion-controlled meals, and healthy meal-prep programs is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

Strong professional experience in vegan and plant-based cuisine
Private chef experience
Yacht chef or maritime hospitality experience
Ability to prepare excellent vegan AND non-vegan cuisine
Strong menu-planning and provisioning skills
Knowledge of nutrition and healthy cooking
Ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
Excellent organization and cleanliness
Ability to work independently
Flexibility with schedules while the yacht is in use
Professional, discreet, positive, and guest-focused attitude
Ability to work and live comfortably as part of a yacht crew

Position Details

Travel: Required based on yacht itinerary

The right candidate will have a genuine passion for food, creativity in the kitchen, and an understanding that vegan cuisine is a central part of this position, while still being able to provide an excellent dining experience for guests with different dietary preferences.
