Full Job Description

Gem State Staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team here in Payette! The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining precision machines to produce high-quality metal products. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring production processes, and ensuring the adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

Operate and set up machines to produce metal products according to specifications.
Adjust machine settings such as speed, temperature, and pressure to ensure product quality and meet production goals.
Perform regular machine checks and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
Production Monitoring:
Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring they meet company standards and specifications.
Monitor production lines for efficiency, addressing issues or discrepancies as they arise.
Keep accurate records of production quantities, machine settings, and any adjustments made during the process.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions and production issues in a timely manner.
Collaborate with maintenance teams for major repairs and technical support.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with team members to achieve production targets and ensure smooth workflow.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding production schedules, issues, and improvements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed logs of machine operations, maintenance activities, and production output.
Prepare and submit reports on production performance, quality issues, and machine conditions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
Proven experience as a machine operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
Familiarity in a fabrication environment, fabrication processes, and safety procedures.

Skills:

Strong ability to read a tape measure.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and interpret technical specs.
Proficient in using hand tools, measuring instruments, and machinery for setting up and adjusting equipment.
Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational issues.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
Capability to stand for extended periods, bend, and reach during machine operation.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as required.

Salary

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00
