Full Job Description

We are looking for a Process Validation Engineer with strong injection molding experience and a background in software, automation, and equipment validation. This is a hands-on role supporting medical device injection molding operations and requires someone who understands both molding processes and validation in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with IQ/OQ/PQ, computer system validation (CSV), automation validation, statistical analysis, and electronic validation systems such as Kneat. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Tooling, and Automation teams to validate equipment, optimize molding processes, and ensure production and quality systems meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, execute, and document IQ/OQ/PQ process validation protocols for injection molding equipment, tooling, and related manufacturing processes.
Lead or support computer system validation (CSV) and automation validation for molding-related systems, including HMI, PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, vision systems, and data acquisition systems.
Author, review, and maintain validation documentation using Kneat or a similar electronic validation lifecycle management system.
Apply statistical methods such as Cpk/Ppk, DOE, SPC, MSA, hypothesis testing, and capability analysis to support process validation and continuous improvement.
Support validation sample sizing and process capability studies using appropriate statistical methods.
Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to maintain compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11 requirements.
Investigate process deviations, non-conformances, equipment issues, and validation failures using structured root cause analysis and problem-solving methods.
Prepare clear, audit-ready validation protocols, reports, risk assessments, SOPs, and other technical documentation.
Support the integration and validation of computerized systems used in manufacturing and quality operations, including MES, LIMS, electronic batch records, Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
Work with tooling, automation, and quality engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize injection molding processes.
Use SAP to support production orders, BOMs, material master data, and manufacturing records associated with molding operations.
Use SQL to query and analyze manufacturing and quality data for process analysis, reporting, and validation reviews.
Utilize RJG process monitoring and control systems, including eDART and CoPilot, to monitor, control, and validate injection molding processes.
Support validation of HMI systems and cloud/server-based platforms used in production and quality operations.
Provide hands-on technical support during equipment qualification, process validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing investigations.

Required Qualifications:

Solid hands-on experience with injection molding processes, including LSR and/or thermoplastic molding, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience with process validation, IQ/OQ/PQ, computer system validation, and automation/equipment validation.
Experience using Kneat or a similar electronic validation/document management platform such as TrackWise, MasterControl, or Veeva.
Strong statistical analysis experience using Minitab, JMP, Excel, or similar tools.
Understanding of computerized quality systems, data integrity, and 21 CFR Part 11 / Annex 11 requirements.
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to develop clear, structured, and audit-ready validation documentation.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently work through complex technical issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with PLM/document control systems such as Teamcenter is a plus.
Working knowledge of SAP, including production orders, BOMs, and material master data in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of SQL or similar database tools for querying and analyzing manufacturing and quality data.
Experience with RJG process monitoring/control systems and RJG validation software, including eDART and CoPilot, is required.
Experience validating HMI systems and cloud/server-based software platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in medical device manufacturing and familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated environments.
Experience with automation and robotics validation on the manufacturing floor.
Six Sigma or Lean certification.
Experience with molding process optimization, DOE, SPC, and statistical process capability studies.
Experience working cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, Tooling, Automation, and Engineering teams.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
